Live, Laugh & Love

As a family, we’re enjoying our first full summer in Atlanta.

Unlike life in New York, winter didn’t feel like it took forever to arrive. It was almost as if we’d experience about a month of inclement weather, then before you know it, April ushers in a lot of sunshine and warmth. One of the biggest reasons for my move here is the amazing weather!

Memorial Day Fun

For Memorial Day, I decided to take the boys to the Georgia Water Park at Margaritaville on Lake Lanier. The drive into the the park is just so beautiful and scenic – surrounded by water.

I’ve been in Atlanta close to a year now and I still can’t believe that we can afford to live this close to such an awesome amenity; we’re only 20 minutes away from the Lake! The boys had a blast at the waterpark. I sat on the beach chugging back over-priced Margarita’s and spiking them with the tequila I snuck into the park- yes, I’m ghetto.

The highlight of the day was going kayaking with the boys. I really don’t have the words to describe how beautiful the experience was. From sharing the lake with the other boats to the turtle that jumped into the water as we float by, this connection to nature is what I’ve always desired. I have that here in Georgia. Again, words cannot describe, so take a look for yourself:

The Georgia Garden

My Georgia Garden is almost complete! I’m growing cucumbers, eggplant, parsley, basil, thyme and a bunch of different peppers. It’s going to be interesting to see how large, hot and fast my peppers grow with the warmer climate out here in Georgia.

What’s interesting to note are the starter plants that are sold in different regions. Peppers like the Carolina Reaper and Ghost pepper aren’t sold in NY – but they are sold here in Georgia. All in all, I can’t wait to care for my little babies until they grow into delicious veggies.
